The highly porous inorganic media provides an ideal environment for beneficial bacteria. Under low-flow conditions, anaerobic bacteria help convert nitrate into harmless nitrogen gas, while aerobic bacteria on the surface assist in breaking down ammonia and nitrite. This dual-action biological filtration helps support a balanced and healthy aquarium.
With a surface area similar to Seachem Matrix, de nitrate offers excellent biological filtration without the need for specialised denitrifying filters or additional bacterial feeds.

Directions for Use
Place the bag directly into your aquarium filter in an area with relatively low water flow for the best nitrate-reducing performance. Rinse gently with aquarium water during routine maintenance if necessary. Avoid cleaning with tap water, as this may harm beneficial bacteria.
