Description
Famously durable red rubber dog chew toy, classic squashed-snowman shape provides chewing interest and fun unpredictable bounces. Hollow centre can be stuffed with treats for hours of dog entertainment. Freeze a stuffed Kong for a really satisfying puzzle. This classic dog toy was invented in the 1970s to please a highly destructive German Shepherd, and has steadily increased in popularity ever since. The natural non-toxic rubber resists rough love from most chewers, but all dogs should be supervised initially and the Kong checked regularly for wear and tear.
Available in different sizes to maximize the chewing pleasure of every dog breed, there is no better toy to intrigue and amuse a smart dog. There are two basic ways to enjoy the Kong; active outdoor play, or chew-based mental stimulation. It's nice and bouncy, and the irregular shape means that dogs cannot predict where it will pop up next. This gives them the satisfaction of chasing it down and subduing it as firmly as they like without destroying it.
The Kong alone is fun to chew, but the genius of the Kong design is the central cavity that runs right through like the marrow in a bone. Fill this up with anything your dog enjoys. Peanut butter, normal dog food, or cheese cubes are popular, as are a couple of hard biscuits wedged into the centre. For extra challenge, or to cool down a hot doggie, freeze the filled Kong. Your dog can then spend happy hours trying to remove the food by licking, chewing, dropping, pounding, and anything else it can think of. This mental stimulation with built-in reward is perfect for smart dogs.
The small Kong is 6cm tall (approx)
