A versatile, low growing moss ⁄ shade plant with a high transplant success rate. Sheet Moss (Hypnum) thrives in shade, but will also tolerate partial sunlight. Because of it’s low growth habit, Hypnum is the ideal companion plant for highlighting low growing plants.
Sheet moss (Hypnum) grows naturally on the floor of warm moist forests where the soil is sandy and acidic. It draws moisture from the air so all it needs is something to cling to and the right growing conditions to thrive. When is purchased, it is usually in its dormant state and requires watering to bring it from its dormant state to become green.
