Red Sea’s Reef Foundation Kit includes high accuracy titration tests for the accurate measurement of the elements calcium, magnesium and alkalinity (KH) which are the basic foundation elements of coral skeletons.
All of these elements need to be available in balanced proportions for sustainable successful coral health and growth. This test kit enables accurate dosing of the Reef Foundation Supplements, which are part of the complete Red Sea Reef Care Program.

Red Sea Reef Foundation Test Kit includes high resolution titration tests for accurate measurements of the elements Calcium (75 tests), Magnesium (75 tests) & Alkalinity (60 tests) which are the basics foundation elements of a coral skeleton.
All of these elements need to be available in balanced proportions for coral health and growth. This test kit enables accurate dosing of the Reef Foundation Complete ABC Supplement,which is part of the complete RedSea reef care program.
Why Test For Calcium (Ca)?
Calcium is essential for corals to develop a healthy, strong skeleton. Levels are naturally depleted in a well-stocked aquarium, so must be tested and restored.
Why Test For Alkalinity (KH)?
The correct pH level is imperative for good fish health and to cause the least stress. It's recommended that the level is between 8.0 to 8.4 in a reef tank as they are more sensitive. When the pH drops it's a sign that the buffer needs replacing for a healthy balance
Why Test For Magnesium (Mg)?
Magnesium should be maintained at approximately 3 times the level of Calcium, measured in ppm. Corals build approximately 90% of their skeleton by combining Ca and CO3 ions from the water to form Aragonite (CaCO3). The rest of the skeleton is made up from Magnesite (MgCO3), Strontianite (SrCO3), Calcite (a more brittle crystal structure of CaCO3), Fluorite (CaF2) and other minor and trace minerals.
